Lorenzo is an immigrant from Mexico as well as a veteran. Before coming to HAP he had drove interstate trucks. Lorenzo came to HAP wanting to secure a small business loan to start his own contracting business by buying a truck. He knows that for many small businesses like his, capital is one of the biggest factors holding people back from starting a business.
With a combination of a loan from HAP and his own savings, Lorenzo was able to purchase a truck which led him to being able to register with Ramsey and Hennepin County’s Central Certification Program which increases the competitiveness of small businesses. Through working with HAP, he has now gotten contracts with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Vikings and has increased his earnings drastically. Lorenzo is an advocate for HAP’s services helping others in the community enter the workforce and start their own businesses.
