Htoo is 43 years old and only has eyesight in one eye. Back in his homeland of Burma (Myanmar), Htoo was a farmer, working 12 hours a day in the fields, and growing crops to raise his family without any assistance from government. He arrived in the United States as a refugee in 2009 with no proficiency in English, no non-farm work experience, and a family to support.

Mayamu is from Liberia and has lived in the United States for about 4 ½ years.   She is 36 years old. Mayamu has been persistent and motivated about finding employment.  She received assistance from her Employment Counselor and Job Developer at HAP to obtain job leads and support in obtaining employment.  She was referred to attend Job Club at HAP, worked with a HAP Job Developer and followed up with a HAP Employment Counselor on a weekly basis, to become job ready for employment.
