HAP is one of hundreds of organizations that receive support from Greater Twin Cities United Way each year. In the 2008 fiscal year, Greater Twin Cities United Way donated $84,198,000 to community organizations throughout its nine-county Twin Cities service area. Additionally, it coordinated the efforts of more than 43,000 volunteers.

In 2008, Greater Twin Cities United Way introduced a new Agenda for Lasting Change, which includes 10 impact-oriented goals around the areas of education, income and health. The plan represents
United Way?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace>’s long-term commitment to fulfilling their mission of “Uniting caring people to build pathways out of poverty, creating opportunity for all.”

The support of Greater Twin Cities United Way would not be possible without the commitment of thousands of donors. Each year,
United Way?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace> leads an extensive, community-wide fundraising campaign. In addition to engaging businesses, corporations and individuals,
United Way?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace> asks all funded organizations to coordinate their own internal fundraising campaign.

In 2009, HAP set a goal to raise $5,000 from employees during the internal fundraising campaign that was held from Monday, September 21 to Friday, October 2, 2009. In addition to encouraging every employee to make an annual pledge to
United Way?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace>, HAP coordinated a number of fundraising events, such as a yard sale, ice cream social, and penny war. As a result of these combined efforts, HAP exceeded our fundraising goal, by collecting more than $5,700 in donations for
United Way?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace>. The campaign is a rewarding way for HAP employees to contribute back to an organization that has provided funding over the years to support HAP programs. Without this crucial funding, HAP would be unable to provide the same level of high quality programs and services to the community.

HAP is honored to be a partner of Greater Twin Cities United Way and has recognized that when we LIVE UNITED, we truly do accomplish more.
