ASCEND

HAP launched ASCEND in 2012 to respond to a very serious, very sensitive issue affecting our community: the sexual exploitation of youth under the age of 18. Ensuring the safety and well-being of youth is one of our primary goals, and thus ASCEND works with victims and at-risk youth to address the severe harm caused by their exploitation and move them towards recovery and independence. Our culturally and linguistically appropriate staff are trained to provide rapid-response aid to these youths.

ASCEND also aims to educate the general public on these serious challenges through community change campaigns. We advocate and serve as community educators within schools, social service agencies, and with law enforcement, so that we can work to end these damaging crimes.
