Thanks to everyone that made our 2011 Empowering the Community Gala a success
October 19th, 2011 – Hmong American Partnership (HAP) held its 3rd Annual Empowering the Community Gala at Hoa Bien Restaurant in St. Paul. The gala was a great success as close to 200 people attended the event including sponsors such as US Bank, Wells Fargo, Briggs and Morgan Professional Association. Hmong community organizations such as the Hmong 18 Clans Council, Hmong Veterans SGU and Hmong Mediation Center as well as elected officials from the Board of Saint Paul Public Schools (Anne Carroll, Keith Hardy, Jean O'Connell, and Kazoua Kong-Thao), State Representative Rena Moran, Ramsey County Attorney John Choi, State Senators Mary Jo McGuire and John Harrington and Chao Lee from Congresswoman Betty McCollum's office were present to show their commitment to HAP and the community it serves.
Below are the results of the raffle drawings.

The gala is an opportunity for community members, funders, and supporters to learn about the services HAP provides, and to celebrate with HAP its many achievements in helping to empower people through education, job search, and youth programs. Celebrating these achievements is especially important for all stakeholders in this difficult economy when funders are scaling back. Non-profits have to do more with less, and the very people organizations such as HAP serve increasingly need support in order to hold on to their hopes for a piece of the American Dream. With this in mind, the gala was of great importance in terms of honoring all those responsible for continuing to address the critical needs of the refugee and immigrant communities.
Thank you for your support!
